We appreciate you taking the time to find out about us and our school. I have led John Shelton Community Primary school since January 2022 but I have taught at the school since 1993! We are on a journey towards excellence that motivates me every day. At John Shelton Community Primary School, we aim to give our amazing pupils the very best. Our mission focuses children and adults on the high expectations we have of our school community. Our core values of 'Respect, Resilience and Responsibility' are the backbone of the school, shaping our curriculum and pedagogy, and guiding our behaviours.

We aim to foster a lifelong love of learning, through adopting a highly practical and cross-curricular approach to learning. Our creative curriculum aims to equip our children with the skills required to be independent and responsible citizens. The curriculum is the means by which the school achieves its objective of educating children in the knowledge, skills and understanding that they need in order to lead fulfilling lives. 

Our curriculum is driven by the need to prepare our children for lifelong learning - we want them to know and see the power of education and learning and know how transformative it can be in changing lives for the better.  We want our children to ‘DREAM IT BELIEVE IT ACHIEVE IT’ and have the confidence and the ability to achieve whatever they dream.   

John Shelton Community Primary School is an exciting place – and our best asset is our pupils. Buzzing with energy, they are at the heart of everything we do, and meeting their needs is our sole focus.
